It’s the most wonderful time of the year, the happiest season of all and it is time to celebrate the holidays with your family. If you’re lucky enough and you’ve been a good lass or lad this year, good old Santa Claus will pay you a visit and bring lots of gifts to your house.
While visiting, Santa finds snacks and gifts you put down to thank him for his generosity and although this is such a nice thing to do, this is not what he is waiting for. I hate to break this to you, but the drawings your kids make for him and Rudolph go straight down the bin when he gets home. Trust me, I know the guy.
Every year he comes down your chimney hoping you’ve put something on the table that he definitely needs to take a break from all the hard work. I’m not talking about cheap wine or disgusting brandy here because I got it on good authority, Santa thinks brandy is for Christmas elves. So how about we provide you with some great whiskies you can leave for him and let him enjoy Christmas in a perfect way? Ho! Ho! Ho!
Jura 10 years old
With its uncomplicated smoothness and fruitiness, we believe the Jura 10 years old is something Santa can sip while loading out presents. It is a no nonsense whisky with a somewhat surprising finish which makes this a gift in a bottle!
Nose
Sweet Danish pastries, almonds, honey and an earthy smell. Lavender and peaches for a light and fruity scent.
Palette
A soft, supple and creamy palate. Spicy oak, perfume and a mix of lavender and cedar wood. Lots of baked fruits towards the finish.
Finish
A warm and fruity finish, Pineapple, vanilla and lemon zest. Cedar wood and an earthy whiff in the end.

Finlaggan Original
With all those dusty chimneys around the world, you could say Santa doesn’t mind a bit of smoke. We do think he needs something to drink to clear his throat and this Finlaggan Original is just what he wishes!
Nose
Quite the complex nose: Salted meat, aniseed, cooked ham, rosemary, apple, charcoal and a minuscule trace of sulphur. Mashed apples, rhubarb and sweet smoked barley just like the Lagavulin and Caol Ila peated barley we got to taste at their tours.
Palette
A soft and buttery palate. Liquorice root, juicy citrus but very gentle and pleasant in the mouth.
Finish
A short but strong finish with liquorice, salted meat, sulphur, lime and breadcrumbs.

Glenfiddich Fire and Cane
It can be freezing cold upon the roof during Christmas, so Santa would love something to give him a warm and cosy feeling. Luckily you can put this Glenfiddich Fire and Cane on the table, that will warm him up in no time!
Nose
Peated barley, toffee, fire that’s put out recently, cardboard, citrus and oranges. It comes close to Glühwein!
Palette
A soft and warm finish with citrus, sugar cane, spicy wood and vanilla.
Finish
Peated barley, brown sugar, cereals, burlap and chili. Roasted nuts, popsicles and perfume. Razor foam and cardboard in the end.

Lagavulin Special Release
From time to time, Santa is in for a treat himself and if you really want to surprise him, this Lagavulin special release is the whisky you need! This delicate and compelling dram is not something he will forget!
Nose
Salted cured ham, bananas, fresh tuna and copper nails. Soldering iron, sparklers, barley and some fresh sawed wood. Salty, medicinal and smoky as it should. Rusk and rubber towards the palate.
Palette
An incredible dry palate with bananas, garlic and aniseed. Very oily and rich with tropical fruits.
Finish
An oily, rich and long finish. Bananas once again, garlic, cured ham and grilled bell pepper. It comes close to Pizza Hawaï.

Glendronach 15 years old Revival
If you want to make sure Santa visits your house every year from now on, you definitely should pour him a Glendronach 15 years old Revival. This robust sherried whisky really is something else! In fact, Santa might take this one back home, in a one horse open sleigh.
Nose
Spiced bread, cooked apples, red fruits and sultanas, a bit musty as well.
Palette
Cherries on the palate, Christmas cake, a slight bitterness of lemon peels and dark chocolate on the tongue.
Finish
A medium length finish with lots of sultanas, vanilla and dark sherry infused wood.

We promise you this, if you pour good old Santa one of the whiskies above, he will provide you with amazing gifts year in, year out. Between you and me, I always put down one glass on the table and keep my bottles right where I can see them.
You never know.
