Ledaig 12yo 2008-2020 Hermitage Finish by Gordon & Macphail
If you’re trying to impress the one you’re sharing with, this is the one. A twelve year old Ledaig is always a good idea, but what about one that was finished on a Hermitage wine barrel? It’s sweet like a dessert, but with a delicate peaty edge. Sharing this one won’t make it last long. But it’s all about creating a memory, and that lasts many Christmas celebrations to come.
Nose
Spareribs, peanut soup, honey and canned fruits, strawberries, candy and cigar smoke. A little bit salty and mineral.
Palette
Supple, spicy, sweet and candy-like. There’s a good amount of rubber notes, which Ledaig is known of.
Finish
Sweet and savoury. With hints of pineapple, salty ashes/smoke, rubber, gun powder, fire cracker smoke and burnt meat.
