Let’s face it, dads are, generally speaking, a bit of a nightmare to buy presents for. So, with that in mind we’ve decided to help you out with some of our top suggestions for the perfect Father’s Day gift, for the father figure in your life.
Obviously if you already know your ‘dad’s’ ideal whisky tipple, it’s a ‘done deal’, however, sometimes it’s nice to get something more unexpected, or something he wouldn’t usually buy himself.
The Whisky Exchange have some great tasting sets available and are available via express delivery.
Tasting sets
This 18 year old whisky tasting set with glass includes five 3cl measured drams of 18-year-old Arran, Bowmore, Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Ledaig. And at £49.95 it’s a bit of a bargain too.

Or there’s a sherried whisky tasting version, with six 3cl bottles, comprising 1 each of;
15 year old Bowmore, 12 year old Edradour, Caledonia Selection, 15 year old Glen Garioch Sherry Cask, 15 year old Glenallachie, Royal Lochnagar Selected Reserve and 15 year old Tamdhu.
At £51.95 it’s fabulous selection, especially for someone who’s not quite sure of their whisky preference.

Join a club!
Something slightly more unusual is ‘The W Club’, available from The Whisky Shop

For £49 you can buy a 1 year membership to a whisky club. With 2 free sample bottles, unlimited free next day delivery and regular, unique tasting experiences, this is a gift which will certainly extend past Father’s Day.
This next one is rather unique!
Chocisky……nope, no need to say bless you! Chocisky are chocolates specifically designed to be paired with particular whisky regions.
Using sustainably sourced cocoa from plantations in Ecuador, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mexico, Soa Tome, Trinidad and Venezuala, each palette of chocolates is designed to complement the whisky region without overwhelming the maltiness of the whisky.
The Chocisky Whisky Chocolate range can be found here and are price at £8.50 per tin.

Presentation is everything!
The Norlan whisky glass. Now if you haven’t heard of this, well, where have you been?!
The Norlan whisky glass is a unique double walled construction, designed to cleverly capture and deliver the aromatics of the whisky to the nose, for a full ‘senses’ experience. The glass was designed in 2015 by co-founder Sruli Recht, with additional input and refining from master distiller Jim McEwan of Islay.
Currently on offer at £38.99 for two, these would give any dad the excuse he’s looking for to relax with a dram!

A bit of fun!
Why not create a slightly immersive experience! Chivas have produced a Chivas Regal Scotch whisky blending kit.
Comprising six 5cl bottles, including a 12 year old and a selection of floral, fruity, citrus, creamy and smoky whiskies, Dad can blend away using the supplied pipette and beaker, and create his own whisky masterpiece.

Engrave a bottle
If you know which whisky you want, why not head over to The Whisky Exchange, select your bottle of whisky and have your own personalised message or initials engraved on the bottle.
Something special
For those who just want to go straight for a bottle of Scotch, here’s a very special release, sure to keep even the most difficult to please dad, happy.
Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura

As described by Glenfiddich (because, quite frankly, we couldn’t have put it any better!)
“This limited edition Glenfiddich is the first single malt scotch whisky finished in Japanese ex-awamori casks. This rare whisky has spent 29 years maturing in American and oak casks at the Glenfiddich distillery before being finished in rare Japanese awamori casks to give it an unforgettable taste.”
With a beautiful deep gold colour, a nose of fruits, caramelised almonds, cinnamon and rich oak notes. The flavours of creamy vanilla toffee linger on the palate, with the occasional burst of green apple, leading to a long lasting oak finish.
