The distillery operations began in 1961 and expansions throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s to take it to having three Coffey stills, helped it reach its current capacity of approximately 40 million litres of spirit per annum.
Today it is still active today as a part of the Whyte & Mackay portfolio, with most of its production going into the Whyte & Mackay blends.
