Glen Moray Distillery
About Glen Moray Distillery
The distillery was not very well taken care of at the start of the 20th century and eventually shut its doors, only reopening in 1924 when Macdonald & Muir – owners of The Glenmorangie – took over, and released it as a single malt, a highly unusual thing for the times.
Over the intervening years, it has gone through my hands of ownership. Today the distillery is still active and is owned by La Martiniquaise, France’s second largest spirits group. The current capacity is 3.3 million litres per annum and its water source remains the nearby River Lossie.
