The Springbank distillery is located on the western side of Scotland on the Kintyre Peninsula. This is based in the Campbeltown region of Scotland. It has been operating since 1828 when the founders Archibald and Hugh Mitchell built Springbank.
About Springbank Distillery
The distillery was built on the same location as a previously illicit still. It is still active as well as independently owned, operating under the same family J & A Mitchell & Company. The current capacity is 750,000 litres and its’ water source is the Crosshill Loch.
Springbank is currently one of the last remaining distillers in the Campbeltown region, a region that once had over 30 active distilleries. The vast majority of what they produce is bottled as a single malt, with a small portion used in various blends. Springbank is also the only distillery in Scotland that completes every single stage of distilling in house, from malting 100% of their barley to bottling each bottle.
