About Aultmore Distillery
The distillery is still active and is now owned by John Dewar & Sons Ltd. The current capacity is 2,100,000 litres and its’ water source is the Auchinderran Burn.
The distillery was initially powdered by a water wheel which was replaced by a steam engine. It then ran day and night for 70 years straight aside from maintenance, when the usually inactive water wheel provided the power. The distillery capacity was increased in 1898 which lead to production ability doubling.
