About VCL Vintners
Social Responsibility
The whisky industry is deserving of considerate and deliberate stewardship
VCL Vintners are fortunate to be involved in an industry so deeply connected to the environment, history and the people of Scotland. We take the industry’s connection with the past and the environment very seriously, recognising our responsibility to be champions of values which safeguard the lifeblood of Scotland for future generations.
Priorities
Our three guiding principles
Environmental Sustainability
As a company we ensure sustainability is at the heart of every decision we make, such as minimising business travel, reducing waste with a digital client application process, and incentivising business recycling practices.
Responsible Investment
We provide investments only to those prospective buyers who contact us – we never cold call or practice any kind of pushy sales tactics. All of our investments are backed by a 14 day cooling period to ensure investors are happy with the purchase they are making.
Supporting Diversity
The whisky industry has a historical reputation of being male dominated. We are proud to support the ongoing trend towards equal employment within the industry, and ourselves have an exact 50/50 split of male and female employees.
Code of Conduct
Self Regulation and Professional Bodies
The whisky industry is considered a physical asset investment (much like buying a classic car or fine art) and therefore not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority in the United Kingdom. There are however various bodies and schemes that VCL Vintners are affiliated with. These voluntary standards act as a framework for us to ensure that we are acting in an appropriate manner. These legal and voluntary schemes ensure professionalism in the industry and allow investors to find companies that are committed to providing the highest levels of service.
