The senior management team has founded and run the company for over 12 years – guiding our clients through successful investment outcomes firstly in the wine market and now in the whisky market. Our people are our best asset, and their ability to spot opportunities in the marketplace ensure that our clients’ portfolios outperform the market.

Stuart Thom
Founder & partner
Stuart’s background is in both law and commodity trading. His impact upon both the company and the wider whisky community has been significant. Taking the company forward into new territory has always been informed by innovative disruption and big ideas to revamp the entire industry. As Managing Director of VCL, Stuart oversees the management of over £100m in investor assets.
Benjamin Lancaster
Founder & partner
Integral to the success of the company, Benjamin spearheaded VCL into the world of rare whisky. Over the last decade, he has led strategic acquisitions and has great links within the industry. An excellent negotiator, he has established many of the existing supply chains that VCL has in place and is responsible for multi-million-pound whisky portfolios. Ben is an analytical and innovative thinker who is always looking for ways to drive growth.
Andrew Kennard
Chief Financial Officer
After qualifying with Top Ten accounting firm BDO, Andrew established a boutique accounting firm, assisting in raising funding, up to an IPO. After becoming CFO of some high profile clients, he has become established in the alternative investment sector.
Charlie McClure
Head of Logistics / Cask Management
Charlie leads the logistics and cask management operations at VCL. Charlie brings along a vast amount of supply chain experience, both in the military and private sector. He possesses a wide and proven background incorporating supplier management, strategic planning, and process improvement within various FMCG sectors.
Alex Fiddock
Chief Marketing Officer
Alex leads the marketing and digital initiatives at VCL Vintners, delivering innovative technology-driven business outcomes and routes-to-market across the entire company group. He specialises in the investment industry and has advised numerous high-growth alternative investment companies.
Martin Meldrum
Stock & Logistics Manager
Martin is a successful Senior Manager with over 30 years experience in the soft drink and alcohol industry. Martin supports the business with operations functions, including Bottling, Blending, Cask Maturation and Capital Expenditure. Martin’s experience delivers a clear understanding of the main influences and key challenges to excel within the Whisky industry.
